REUSABLE WATER BOTTLES
Why buy a water bottle when you can take a reusable drinks bottle filled with water from home? If the kids like squash when you’re out, why not take one with you instead of buying drinks? Save money and help the environment too! Keen Kanteen bottles are perfect for this!
REUSABLE STRAWS
According to the WWF, plastic straws can take 200 years to decompose. Reusable straws are a super handy addition to our camping bags, from campsite drinks (way easier through a straw!) to saving a café using one of their straws when we stop by. They usually come with a special cleaner to keep them sparkling!
PACKED LUNCHES
Rather than buying when we’re out, I’ve got used to taking a packed lunch with us. A bit like the feeling of a school trip, we get excited to sit down with our lunch! Again, saving the pennies, we know we’ll like the food, better for the environment without the packaging, and leaves us some spare change for ice cream too!
REUSABLE FOOD BOXES
Not only for packed lunches, but for all kinds of days out and camping too, reusable food packaging is a great alternative to single-use plastic. I admit in my early days of camping that I was reliant on easy, single-use food, but now I bring my own where possible, making it at home, and using reusable food boxes are a great way to cut back!
ECO SUN BALM AND HAND GEL
This is a new one for me, but we’ve recently come across eco-friendly lip balm and hand gel. They’re usually in zero-waste or recyclable packaging, with natural and reef-friendly ingredients – better for you and the environment too.
