Best Pumpkin Patches across the UK- Updated 2022

October is here, and that can only mean one thing...It's Pumpkin season, love them or hate them, Pumpkins are here to stay, and one of the most fun things to do in October is head to a Pumpkin Patch.

Whether you like to display, carve or eat your Pumpkins (or all of the above), wrapping up warm and heading to the farm to pick out your own is such a fun family activity, and it's no wonder it's exploded in popularity in the UK over the last few years.

We've asked our team and followers for their faves and rounded up some of our Little Trekkers communities favourite, instaworthy pumpkin patches for you to explore this October, did we miss your favourite out? Let us know in the comments.

ENGLAND

SOUTH WEST

Jolly Pumpkin- Little Trekkers Campaign Manager Gemma's favourite pick, this gorgeous Pumpkin Patch just north of Exeter is full of amazing props to level up your pumpkin patch photos! Plus this year there's a corn maze to explore too! On top of all that there are a big range of pumpkins, big, small, orange, grey and more. Admission is £1.25 per person over 3Y, plus the cost of your Pumpkins. There's also coffee, stone baked pizza and other drinks/snacks available from their spooky Jolly Cafe.

Strawberry Fields Farm Shop - This wonderful farm shop in Lifton, just over the Devon/Cornwall border has a large pumpkin patch, as well as a Maize Maze to explore, entertainment, a carving station and more as part of Pumpkin Fest. Plus tasty treats a plenty in their Cafe.

Orway Pumpkins - PYO pumpkin patch on the mid/east Devon border. In a great location and access for a fun activity for anyone and everyone. Free entry, with refreshments on site

Terawhiti Farm - PYO Patch in South Devon, with big ones, small ones, warty ones and ghost pumpkins. Choose from 10,000 pumpkins. Free parking and refreshments on site. Cash only, close to local beautiful beaches to make a day of it.

Farringtons - Just south of Bristol & Bath, the Farrington's Pumpkin Picking Festival includes over 100,000 pumpkins to pick from, plus a carving marquee, Witch's Wood, Tractor Trailer rides and a fun fair!

Frogmary Green Farm - Near Yeovil, Entry is free and you’ll only pay if you pick any pumpkins.

Dorset Country Pumpkins - Open 15th/16th and 22nd to 30th October 2022 10am - 4pm. No Booking Required

MIDLANDS

Little Trekkers Brand Manager Indy's patch of choice is Shirley Pumpkins in Ashbourne. Open weekends from the 8th October plus half term week in October (weather permitting). No booking required, free entry.

Mr Pumpkin - Mr Pumpkin is a fourth generation farm, located just outside of Derby City Centre.

Attwell Farm Park - Take a stroll into the pumpkin patch and pick your own pumpkin! Then take them to the Ghastly Gazebo to Gut & Carve them up! Take them home with you to scare away the trick or treaters. Full access to the farm. Booking essential.

Essington Farm - Booking is required, open from 1st October. Essington Farm has a variety of Pumpkins to pick with a few unusual ones including pink, yellow, white and grey pumpkins.

SOUTH EAST

Secretts Godalming - Pre-bookable Pumpkin picking, with fancy dress competition, running 22nd - 29th October 2021. Hot Pumpkin themed food on offer.

Rogate Pumpin Patch - There will be Merlin’s Wood to explore, halloween décor, haystacks to climb, barrel rides and go-karts to whizz around in and maize to run through plus lots of pumpkin fun!

Tully’s Farm - Just outside of Crawley, with 20 acres of Pumpkins to pick, plus roaming character and Evening pumpkin picking slots!

Poynings Pumpkin Patch - Free entry with Beautiful views of the South Downs. Delicious local food and Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes (carving and cooking!). Open 10-4.

Aldenham Country Park - Bigger and better than ever. Discover frightfully fun offerings such as pumpkin picking and carving, horrid hay tractor ride, spooky trail, pumpkin bingo, decorations throughout the farm and much more! Spook-Fest starts on October 15th and runs everyday until October 31st.

Pumpkin Picking Village - A favourite of Little Trekkers Ambassador @mothergoodofficial. With evening slots, SEN friendly slots and Dog friendly slots, this pumpkin patch is located in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex. Booking essential, open every day in October.

NORTH ENGLAND

Fieldhead Farm Pumpkin Patch - A brand new patch for 2022, you can pick your own pumpkins! Enjoy a walk in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, finding scarecrows and clues along the way. Hot/cold drinks and yummy traybakes available.

Spilmans Farming - Pumpkin patch opens on 2nd October for pick your own (PYO) pumpkins. Fun acitivities including Corn Cannon and Pumpkin Slingshot also on site. Booking essential.

Cannon Hall Farm - As well as amazing outdoor and indoor playgrounds, they are also opening their pumpkin patch for you to capture those insta-worthy pictures. There will also be some themed activities and a programme of farm talks and races. All paying children get a free pumpkin.

Brocksbushes - A favourite of Little Trekkers friends @_justthe_twoofus_. This year they have grown more pumpkins, added an extra pumpkin patch with all new decorations and will have pumpkin carving in a marquee too! As well as Face Painting, Rides and Game stalls.

East Grange, Durham - Another favourite of @_justthe_twoofus_, this patch offers free entry and free parking. Just pay for what you pick. Prices start from £1.

Farmer Copleys - Just outside of Leeds, There’s always plenty to do at the Farmer Copleys Pumpkin Experience and this year is no different. They’ll have their Tractor Ride, Bird of Prey Shows, Archery, Vintage Rides, Storytime, Magical Mr Zen, Face Painting, Riverside Paint A Pot, Daily Fancy Dress Competition, Photo Opportunities Galore, plus loads more.

SCOTLAND

Udny Pumpkins - Come along and pick your Halloween pumpkin, visit friendly animals, take part in a colouring competition, play on hay bales, spend time with baby chicks... and lots more! Plus you can join one of their virtual Planting sessions in April, and grow your own Pumpkin at home for next Autumn.

Arnprior Farm - Little Trekkers friends @glasgowwithkids loves this Patch located in Stirling. It’s not just about the pumpkin patch at Arnprior, there is a dig for tatties area, and you pull your own turnip too. There are lots of activities from face painting to quad pod rides and also their famous kids maze made of kale and an all-weather haybale soft play area!

St Abbs Pumpkin Patch- Little Trekkers Social Media Manager Jess @todburn_tales go to patch is pick your own on the Scottish Borders just outside of St Abbs. The official opening day at St Abbs Pumpkin Patch will be on Saturday 8th October at 10 am. Open from 10 am to 5 pm everyday through to Saturday 29th October (weather permitting ). No booking required and no admission charge, you may need to queue if the patch becomes busy. There are some lovley photo opportunities on the patch and a pumpkin cannon blaster!

WALES

Porth Farm, Cearsws - A picturesque Farm with a Sunflower area, Maize Maze, a farm walk, and a PYO Pumpkin field opening in October

Pumpkin Picking Patch - With patches in Cardiff, Bath, Sompting and Porthcawl. As well as pumpkin picking there are spooky mazes, twilight sessions as well as The Great Pumpkin Smash so you can help us break up their pumpkins and put nutrients back into the soil. This is a ticketed event and will allow you to bring your pumpkins to be recycled as well raising funds in aid of Great Ormond Street.

Bellis Brothers Farm - A family run farm and all pumpkins are grown onsite. They have a Spooky Maize Maze for you to explore and Nightingale House Hospice will be joining them each weekend with fundraising activities for children. Booking essential.
