If your clothing is fit for purpose, you’re more likely to enjoy your walk. Outdoor clothing is designed to keep you comfortable in a range of temperatures and weather conditions, therefore enabling to enjoy the outdoors rather than limping along with blisters and damp limbs. Over the years, we’ve been left soggy by ‘fashion’ rain coats more than once. Waterproof coats and trousers that have been designed with outdoor functionality in mind are worth their weight in gold. Not only will they keep you dry and therefore comfy, they also act as an extra layer of protection against the wind, as well as keeping your little puddle jumper/mud swimmer’s clothing clean and stain free. This set by Didriksons will do the job nicely, with the added bonus of looking super cool.
In terms of what you put on underneath, I like to layer clothing for both myself and the children. That way, if someone starts to feel too warm or too cold, it’s easy to remove or add a layer. Outdoor clothing is made using fabrics that allow skin to breathe by repelling sweat and water, this top and shorts make such a cool outfit for summer adventures!
Picking the right backpack can be a game changer. I like deuter backpacks because they always have lots of sections and pockets, which helps me to organise the things we need on our adventures. They come in a range of sizes and designs and are very adjustable, meaning you can get a custom fit. They also help to keep your back cooler than a standard backpack would. This is a child’s version, with many of the features of their adult range.
