Keep the Adventure Going – Even After School Starts! 

Hey Little Trekkers!

Just because school is back in session doesn’t mean the adventures have to stop. In fact, the new school year is the perfect time to start a whole new kind of exploring, right in your garden after school, on the weekend , or even during the school run!

Here are some fun and easy ways to keep your adventurous spirit alive all year round:

Mini Missions After School

Turn your walk or ride home into a micro-adventure! Spot five different types of leaves, look for animal tracks in the mud, or pretend you're on a secret mission! You could enjoy a bike or scooter ride on the way home or when you get home! Hey, you could pack a picnic tea, we know kids are always hungry after school so why not heave an early tea.  Adventure is a mindset!

2. Weekend Wild Times

Use your weekends to get outdoors and explore somewhere new, even just a different park or trail. Pack a small backpack, grab your wellies if it's muddy, and off you go. The best adventures don’t need to be far away.

Start an Explorer’s Journal

Keep a log of your after-school or weekend discoveries. Draw th

e bugs you’ve found, write about the biggest puddle you’ve jumped in, or make a leaf collection. You’ll be amazed how much you discover when you start paying attention.

4. Night-Time Nature

As the evenings get darker earlier, why not head outside with a grown-up and a torch to explore the night? Spot stars, listen for owls, and see what creatures come out after bedtime. Just don’t forget your warm socks!

5. Adventure Homework

Got a school project coming up? Turn it into an exploration! Learning about rocks, trees, or local history? Head out and see them for yourself. Nature is the best classroom of all.

Remember: Big or small, every adventure counts.

Even five minutes spent outside can feel like a journey into the unknown. So keep your boots by the door, your eyes wide open, and your sense of wonder switched on, because adventure doesn’t end when school begins. It just changes shape.
