Little Trekkers ambassador Touring with the Kids tell us some of their favourite parts about family van life.
Van conversions, campervan’s, motorhomes, they are all the rage right now and if there is one thing that lockdown has taught us all, it’s that there are so many amazing places to explore right on our doorstep here in the UK. So for many, the lust for luxurious holidays in far flung destinations has been replaced by a longing to experience adventures closer to home in the comfort of their own tiny home on wheels.
So if you’re one those lusting over van life, we’re here to tell you why you should bite the bullet and join the family van life community.
A GREAT SENSE OF ADVENTURE!
There’s something about van life that automatically makes you feel like you are on a great adventure. All of a sudden, you find yourself spending your spare time researching places to visit and seeking out new adventures. It opens your eyes up to more than just the four walls of your house and gives you and your family a whole new lease of life to get out their and explore. Go kayaking, jump into a lake, climb a mountain or just let the kids stay up late to watch the stars. The possibilities are endless!
A LOVE FOR THE OUTDOORS
People may wonder why on earth a family would want to spend their time squeezed into a van but the truth is, it isn’t really about squeezing into a van. It’s about spending time outdoors. Nobody has a van and spends all of their time inside it! You’ll find yourself embracing the outdoors in all of its glory and you’ll get to see the joy of just how the kids flourish when getting to spend time surrounded by nature.
TIME TO ENJOY THE SIMPLER THINGS IN LIFE
Dipping toes into the river, eating breakfast outside, telling stories by the fire, enjoying some amazing views or simply running along the beach, van life gives you time to enjoy the simple and beautiful things in life. You have an escape from the everyday distractions, away from television and wifi connections, which means you can really unwind and focus on quality uninterrupted family time.
So in a nutshell, if we had just one piece of advice. It would be go out, buy the van and create some amazing family memories. You won’t regret it. Promise!
