I took up running last year so that I have the energy and speed to keep up with my growing minxes! I reluctantly need to incorporate some hills in my training, so wanted to recce some short-ish hills with a bit of a track on them that weren’t paved super-highways. A quick check of the OS map brought up a place I’ve wanted to explore with the girls for a while, now: the Caterthuns.

Cooking, mud, water and tools – a perfect messy play weekend!
Harry recently turned 10, which is a milestone worth marking, but all Harry wanted to do was “go to a forest and mess about with ropes and stuff”. Thankfully, a few of his friends were willing to join in, so off we all went for the cheapest birthday party ever.
As is the rule with any new piece of outdoor gear in house, as soon as we got our new Trailgator it was time to put it through its paces and test out its limits.
We like to get outdoors, no matter the weather. If it’s wet and windy, that just means wearing the right gear. After all, there’s mud to mess with, puddles to jump in, and those sticks aren’t going to play with themselves, you know!
In the last few weeks we have found ourselves on quite a few missions to sort out boats that belong to the local angling club. Members usually help out in getting them out for the new season, and we quite like trekking along when Stewart agrees to do one.
