Kite flying on the moor

The Postie arrived with a box this weekend that caused a great level of excitement. Who was it going to be for? Little Trekkers had sent us a set of Bogs Durham Solid Wellies to try out!

Kite flying on the moor

Now, having worked in the outdoors over the years, I have seen these in action before and have been really impressed with the warmth and waterproofness of them, but what I hadn’t seen was the desire to wear them so much from 2 young boys.

Both boys were determined to wear them, which was quite funny in itself. The older one decided they were too big with just a pair of thin socks and needed to try them with thicker socks. Whilst he went off to find the thicker pair of socks the younger one had come in stuck them on marched around and announced that they were “just perfect mummy”

It’s not been so rainy recently, so I had wondered where to try them. I wasn’t given any option; they were on the wee ones feet as soon as we announced that we were off to the moor to fly their kites. They received rapturous applause, kept the damp from the heather off his legs and were “Really comfy”

Our village has a 3 word name and shortened down it often goes as BOG, so an absolutely perfect pair of wellies to try out here.

We have since had them out on both boys in various weather, rain, shine and muddy jobs round the house. Each time they are the preferred option of both boys. I think I might have to get a second pair; as I quote “These are the best wellies ever mummy”

So far we have found them to be amazingly durable and a generous fit- just perfect for wearing with warm socks. They have great grips and have been fabulous on rainy days in muddy puddles. Warm and toasty with handles that are fab for little hands to be able to do things themselves.

Gosh Nancy how do you sort out which child gets the kit? I find it very tricky Torrin usually wonders around the house in new stuff thats for Finlay first and then carefully puts it in his draw! Love the BOG link and the kites.
