Bumper Cars in the Sand - A Winner for the Last 30 Years!
It was Izzy's birthday so a day out was definitly in order so we set off for one of our favourite spots - Piha Beach near Auckland. The sun was out but being winter here it can still be a bit nippy.
Another great picnic watching the waves crashing in before we headed down to the sands for some fun. My Dad used to spend hours making my sisters and me great sand cars and in our family there is no stopping this tradition. It’s getting difficult at times though as living near the ocean it’s hard work building a car every trip to the beach!
Spade gear sticks, bucket headlights, sisters on board and they were off.....the exhaust puffing out seaweed...is that environmentally friendly!!??
After they returned from their trip, parked and locked up, we took a look around the rocks to see what the sea had left behind before a walk down the sands. Another great day out with lots of laughter and smiles... if you visit Auckland its definitely somewhere worth a visit.
