How to Paint Pebble Bugs

How to Paint Pebble Bugs

  • Washing up liquid
  • Pencil/Pen
  • Pebbles
  • Acrylic Paints
  • Paint Brush
  • Stick on Eyes (optional - available at hobby and craft shops)
  • Blu Tac (optional)

Pebble bugs are very easy to make and all the family can get involved. We’ve had great fun at Little Trekkers making ours.

  1. Wash your pebble bugs in soapy water and then leave to dry thoroughly
  2. Paint a base coat onto your pebble - a light grey or white is good (you will probably need two coats)
  3. Leave to dry
  4. Draw on your finished design
  5. Paint your bug and leave to dry
  6. Add your stick-on eyes - we used blue tac to keep ours on
  • Look for unusually shaped pebbles to make some really odd (but awesome) looking bugs
  • To remind you where you found the pebble, write on the bottom the name of the beach and the date you found it.
