Make Every Walk into a Nature Walk, Night or Day
Exploring the wonders of nature can be done anywhere. The walk to school, to the shops, even when out walking the dog, you never know what you might see. The most exciting places can often be found on your doorstep, you just sometimes have to look a little closer at what's around you.
Turn your everyday walks into a quest to discover something new everyday.
What Will You See Today?
Take along a notebook and coloured pencils so you can draw the interesting plants you see. You can even collect a few and then take them home and press them between the pages of an old book.
When looking for different insects its always best to have a container to put them in so that you can have a proper look at them but always remember to put them back once you have finished. Take photos of any unusual creepy crawlies you stumble across, you can then identify them later.
A pair of binoculars or the zoom lens on a camera will help your see the markings on birds close up when they are flying or on the ground. Take some photos of them so you can print them off and stick them in a book to keep track of all the different birds that you have seen.
Whether you're walking during the day or night it is always interesting to see which animals are around. Which animals do you see more of in the day or at night?
